02/26/2019. This video hit - 675k likes at this time was a mega hit, but something was different. This video found a TON of unique viewers. This was the first time I had bigger media companies contacting me for the rights to a video. They wanted to “buy it” in an exclusive manor, offering NO MONEY upfront, but a wild guarantee that I would recoup a ton of money later. Let me tell you something, you will never see the money you were promised. This kind of predatory thing happens SO OFTEN, and the “exposure” is not worth it. If you find yourself in this position, you must always temper your expectations, 99.9% of the time the creator gets the shaft (research Barstool sports). Also, these viral companies change hands so often, that just like shell companies on the stock market, you’ll never really know who owns what. It’s a complete shit-show. They want to piggy back off of your creativity and sell it to ANYONE. Shortly after this video, there was a huge blow back, and it tends to be less exclusive rights now and more non-exclusive, but PLEASE read the small print, get a lawyer or feed the contract into ChatGPT - know your rights. Remember, you’re the asset, your brain is the asset, your video, your creativity. Fuck everyone else.

One thing I’ll NEVER get sick of is the artwork. My house is FILLED with artwork people have made. Oh man, once I’m filthy rich I’m just gonna have a HORDE of artists on retainer making borzoi art. Maybe open a museum?
